Puppy needs help

Does anyone know of a vet that would give a discount price on an operation? Someone I work with knows a puppy that swallowed something and the estimated cost of the suregery is $1000, their only other option is to put the puppy to sleep. I am not sure what the dog swallowed. Or does anyone have any other options even is if it came down to giving the dog up...at least he could live!

Is there a vet hospital nearby ???? BTW ... no one should take on a dog without having at least this much on hand for an emergency . I do hope that the pup gets help .
