Basol had a mealworm feeding tonight, so I nabbed some pics! He's getting big - he's about five months, and is currently eating a lot and shedding every two weeks or so.

His colour has developed a little bit... he's a stunning solid yellow hue with a beautiful carrot tail. He's also a little more comfortable with being handled when I have to move him, he sits calmly in my hand as opposed to squirming.

Mind the moss. It fell out of his humid hide when I removed it, and viv cleaning is on Tuesday.

Hai. I herd mealies.

Mum-lady, you gives me mealies?

I smells them.

May I nomz?

I nomz. Nomnomnomz.

That was deelish.

Nom. Perhaps I nomz another...

Yes, I nomz.

How do you know how many meal worms he needs to nom?
It can be tricky. Because he's 5 months and his tail was a bit skinny, I've been feeding him about 4-5 mealies and 2-3 crickets every two days. He's putting on weight and growing, so I'm sticking with that. Geckos are tricky beings to "properly" feed. As long as he's eating and his tail fat stores are good, then we're good!
