What would you pay for safe return of a lost pet?

Just recalled, though, that when my dog was stolen, I didn't specify a reward amount at all. On the posters I put up, I said "REWARD", I might have even said "LARGE REWARD", but I didn't want to be specific. Partly because I wasn't sure how much I could scrape up, and partly because I thought it I was vague, people would imagine their own impressive number.

I'd pay as much as possible, too. I think though that the crazy huge rewards might be more about publicity. When your dog is missing, the goal is to get as many people to see your flyers as possible - since it just takes the one right person seeing it. A huge reward can get media attention, as we're seeing!

Another part of rewards in general are to convince people to speak up if they have information, not necessarily the dog. Like if they know someone's brother has it or something.
