K dogs, stahp.

My left hand has been bit by a border collie, German shepherd, and Malinois, all in the last day. My right hand has made it out unscathed. Balance, dogs, BALANCE.

I'm a baby and my left hand hurts. :(

We are moving in 6 days. Moving four doors down, to a condo that is identical except for being a mirror image of the one we are in now.

I own Gusto, who has to get on the bed on the left side (only) and off on the right side (only) and can't lay down if someone is in his spot (the canine version of Sheldon) and I am concerned that his head is going to EXPLODE.

And/or both of my dogs will just run back up the street every morning to poop on the old lawn.

Had a Barn Hunt fun run match thing for Kimma and Jari. Jari I kept on leash because of marking issues (he didn't mark, but I didn't want to give him the opportunity to). They both did really well!!!!! I'm excited for our next trial end of May with Kimma. Jari may never trial, but it seems like there are a good amount of these fun match things, so he can always just do that :)

The more I read about Gusto the more I become convinced the he and Watson are somehow related! :D

My friend had noticed this thread. She wasn't sure if our message would fit in this thread but we'll put it here any way. My friend has a young dog, Lotta, who haven't been trained much yet and she is also interested in teaching Lotta tricks. She would need some ideas of what to teach to Lotta. We have created this thread: http://www.chazhound.com/forums/showthread.php?t=270900
We tried to ask for a list of tricks there. However, it seems that other users may not be interested about it. My friend would like to know now in which thread we could ask for ideas of what to teach to Lotta if not in that thread we created? My friend has checked weekly trick threads, however she has seen only one trick that is easy enough for Lotta in one of the threads. There is no information of how to teach it though. So, in which thread we could discuss about it?

I love that after two hours of trick training and agility work at the school,
fetch in the park to unwind, and then running beside my bike the whole way home, Venice is scampering up and down my hallway with a ball teasing foster boy. I wanted a dog I could count on to keep up with me and play all day, and I think that's just what I got. :)
My friend is also interested in teaching Lotta to fetch but she should first be teached to take and drop on cue. We have a thread about it: http://www.chazhound.com/forums/showthread.php?t=270260
Could someone advice on it? We have put also new questions there.

Update on Roxie- had a hard time sleeping last night, she kept popping up and moving to different places. She is doing a TON better today, but she's still experiencing a reaction (ears swollen up, still a few hives) so we are going to our normal vet later today.

Roxie's throat is no longer twice the size of her head, and lymph node swelling has deminished measurably. Still swollen, but not so bad that her throat is hanging like two inches down. Her ears are still balloons and bruised (doc said she could have given herself some burst blood vessels... Yikes) from shaking her head so bad.

I barely slept, been running everything through the washer, but idc. I've still got my little teacup tiger and she's not in pain... That's all that matters. We are going to be seeing an allergy specialist (both of us, since I also have horrible allergies) soon, so that Roxie and I can still do the things we love (hiking)... But without blowing up into a balloon of pain and itchyness afterwards.

Poor girl! Do they know what she's allergic to?
She has environmental allergies. This spring is supposed to be really bad for allergy sufferers... I am feeling that today. I guess I've had a delayed effect because I take both loratadine (day) and benedryl (night), but today... Human version of Roxie minus the hives. Breathing isn't easy.

So yeah, we're both planning on getting some desensitization shots this year, because this sucks.

Talon is a good boy. Today's been a horrible day, and Talon came over sniffed my tears, than put his arm on my shoulder and laid his head on my other shoulder and just stayed there while I hugged him. He didn't try to pull away or smother me or play, he just stood there like that for 10 minutes. For being such a dense dog, he can be really sensitive sometimes.

Dropped Jari off for his "trial run" with the lady who is hopefully going to watch him when we go away in June. MY BABY!!!!

It's REALLY calm and quiet here. Kind of creepy actually.

Awww, I'm sure he'll be fine! :p

Whenever we drop Frodo off at his boarding place, the first thing Ryan does when we get home is to walk into the apartment, then turn around and walk right back out again. It seems simple, but with Frodo's separation anxiety it isn't something we ever get to do

I know he will be. I'm just a sissy. I've also never been away from him since he was born. Well, for a 24-hour period anyway. He could care less that I was leaving, as the trainer is actually also watching a year old Maltese mix. So yeah. Other dog and new human to play with trumped that :p

I can imagine (with Frodo)! I'm glad Kimma's SA was never anything TOO serious (but just serious enough for a behavior mod program and some temporary meds). Jari's starting to exhibit some behaviors that Kimma did so I'm hoping it's just a phase he will grow out of.

That sounds like Frodo when I drop him off at his special needs boarding place. We walk in, he says hello to the women who run it, then heads straight to their expansive, fenced in play-yard and never looks back. It's half awesome because I love that he loves it there, and half heartbreaking because I WANT HIM TO LOVE ME AND BE SAD THAT I'M LEAVING, DAMMIT!

So today I got some chemical assistance to help me trim Cajun's nails. A little cocktail of alprazolam and acepromazine, and BOOM, nails trimmed. One person to dispense Easy Cheese, one person (me) to trim the nails, and even though I don't feel like I took that much off of them (MUST HURRY mode), they don't click on the hardwood floor anymore and that's really all that matters.

I used a low dose and she totally wasn't even looking like the drugs had touched her, but apparently they affected her as much as I needed them to.
