Well, it was the last puppy class for Traveler so I brought my camera and had my mom take some pictures. Excuse the quality, she had never used my camera before :D

It was just crazy tonight all the dogs have been going nuts this past week and it was louder at my club and more fights breaking out than ever before and none of the puppy could focus for more than a second.

But Traveler was still the star

Doing some focus

Stay

Only three, but better than nothing!

His focus on you is amazing. What have you done to get him to be like that?! Do you smell like bacon all the time or something?

I'll take a Traveler please!
I highly recommend Travelers

Didn't you see the T-Bone steak sticking out of my pocket?

Honestly he has amazing focus and has from the very start. Focus was the first thing I taught and I'll tell you, it paid off. It's his default behavior so when in doubt he looks at me and I make him do it before he gets most things.

He will, no matter the situation whip his head to look at me if I say focus or even his name half the time. I make him do it in every position and no matter where I am so he's just an Ace at it

It's been a life saver in the club because I pretty much was paying for the enviorment, to make him deal with people jumping, yelling, praising and playing all around him with there dogs so I always sit next to a ring that I know will have lots going on and it's really helped getting him to understand no matter what is going on around you pay attention to me

Good for Traveler! He's so pretty but he needs to shrink back down to puppy size. :p

Also, I think we have the same haircut...lol.

I KNOW! He really does, he looks like an adult now, don't like it!

Best hair cut ever! So nice for the summer and I love not having to deal with styling or anything

Ok, you can steal him...but be prepared for a dog that's about one week away from walking on the ceiling :D

Wow!! GREAT focus, and I love the last picture especially.
I have to say, I hadn't seen what his focus looks like from a outside our bubble and I have to say I'm pretty impressed with it. He really does pay attention to whatever I'm doing

His focus is great, I wish we did more of that in Quinn's puppy class. Mine is more based around socialisation.
I really need to do more focus work with her, Traveller looks great!

Thanks! He's kinda a butt but I love him

Socialisation never hurts! Honestly, my puppy class sucked. I got Traveler a week too late to sign up with the trainer at my club I like and instead got stuck with the only other puppy class trainer that everyone warned me about.

She was just incompetent. Never explaining to anyone how to fade a lure, telling people to teach stay by starting with your dog on the left side, say stay walk around in front of them, stand there and then walk around behind them and ONLY THEN reward if they hadn't moved...yeah, right.

Then having us do two minute down stays with puppies that can't even hold for 5 seconds let alone that long and never explaining how to work towards longer and farther stays.

Doing heeling but never explaining how to do it, bringing high value toys in and expecting the people to be able to get their dogs to leave it on the first command without ever having explained even what leave it was, how to train it or anything

And that's just a small section of the things she did that drove me nuts.

I joined for the environment and not to listen to her, so I pretty much did my own thing and she left me alone because Traveler is light years ahead of the other dogs. but it was just sad watching everyone flounder.

Rant over! But anyway, focus is such a wonderful command and I love it dearly!

By the way, Quinn pictures? She must be growing up so fast
