Search and Resuce dogs

I am interested and learning more on training a dog to be a search and rescue dog for disasters. Can anyone help to learn what it takes and how to go about it?

bump .... just because hubby has been interested in this for years and I would love to know the answer.

Search and rescue training is a blast. I think every dog should get the chance to learn it, just for the benefits to their thinking process.

There's a lot of information on those. The ARDA published a book called Search and Rescue Dog's: Training the K-9 Hero. It's completely worth reading. Hope that helps!
