Our sweet Rocky has passed away..

I just thought I would let you all know
that Rocky has passed away Sunday morning before
I went to work. Last week he took a turn for the
worse and he died on Sunday morning.
He had just turned 12 in November.

Rocky is one of the dogs that is rare to find.
We have had him since I was 11 or older.
We got him when we had to put our basset/beagle mix
down around Christmastime.
He filled the void and brings the
Christmas/holiday spirit around in this family
and it's going to be a very hard
Christmas without our Rocky boy. :cry:
He's the reason I get very excited for Christmas
like I am a little kid all over again.
He has always sat beside me at Christmas
while I am opening my presents.

He has touched all the people that
was lucky enough to meet him especially our family.
He has touched our family in so many ways and
I just feel like my heart has been ripped out and
broken into a million pieces. :cry:

He never met a person he didn't
like and vice versa.
Everyone loved him.
He's been to so many family reunions and was
in our family Christmas card last year.

When he went to the lake for family picnics
he would go with us and always
went by the water with me. So everytime we
went to the lake
he would swim a little and be right by my side.
It will be hard
going without him now.

He always had a sparkle in his eyes when he
looked at you and when he lost that sparkle this week we knew something was terribly wrong with him.

I will probably post more pictures
later when I feel up to it but this is me and Rocky in Christmas of 2006.


I love you big boy. I know he had a great life with us but
I have to say that doesn't make the pain any easier to deal with. :cry: When I came home today and he wasn't there to greet me yesterday or today I can't even explain the pain.

I just hope he knew how much we loved him. Now that I have 2 days off it still hurts more than anything.

Our other furbabies are comforting us and helping us
through this and our family is helping each other out
to be there for each other. We haven't lost a dog for 12 years and the pain is very fresh. :cry:

I love you so much Rocky boy.
Thank you so much for 12 wonderful years of
friendship, loyalty, and being there for us through
thick and thin.
I feel honored to have had you as our dog
and we will always remember you and love you..
I have a picture of you at work and was going to
bring it home but I need you there at work
and everywhere I go.

This house is just not the same without you. :cry:
Rocky is the reason I love black dogs so much particulary labs since he was one.
He was truly a treasure to have around.

November 1st 1996 - December 14th 2008 - Rocky the most wonderful dog on the planet. You will be forever missed, loved, and in our hearts.. :cry:
