We're back!! Blue went to his first Mardi Gras parade today, a smaller family oriented one, and he had fun! He got lots of pets and head rubs (and a belly scratch too!) from plenty of people there. I told him not to party too hard, but at one point, he passed out drunk. I told him he couldn't hold his liquor! On with the photo's! (And plenty of them!)

Crossing the bayou to get back to the truck...

Almost home! I asked Blue if he wanted to do this again sometime soon. This is the face I got... guess that means no!

**DONE!**

LMAO at that last pic! You just bring Ol' Man Blue over to my house while you go party. I quit Mardi Gras several years ago. I've even given up my New Roads parades on Fat Tuesday!

I quit Mardi Gras several years ago. I've even given up my New Roads parades on Fat Tuesday!

I used to ride the floats, but quit after last year. My friend's uncle ran a lot of the big floats in New Orleans (Endemion, hooboy, talk about a time!), New Roads, Spanish Town... I rode Spanish Town and New Roads last year, along with Addis. Addis was okay, Spanish Town was too much trouble, and we needed a police escort to get out of New Roads last year because of the trouble. Took of 4 hours to get an escort out of the crowds after they got rowdy. Never again! After that, I didn't ride any floats this year. These pics were from the Livonia parade, much more family friendly, and smaller, though I did spot a couple drunks. More kid-oriented though, and only 5 minutes from the house. :D

I use to do Metarie almost every year, but quit because of all the trouble.

I gotta work on Fat Tuesday anyways, so I couldn't have gone to NR anyways. Oh well.

There were TONS of dogs there. I have pics to post later of one that I loved. A Firefighter had his yellow lab there, that dog was awesome. He howled at the sirens like a beagle. Then his owner told him to go fetch a stick, so he jumped straight into the bayou, and climbed back up with a huge TREE BRANCH in his mouth. Priceless! Everyone laughed. I got pics, I'll post 'em later.

Blue used to be 1/2 deaf. Now he is almost completely deaf, so the sirens barely caught his attention, LOL. He could hear them, but it takes loud pitches like that for him to be able to hear anything. He barely hears me anymore, unless I scream right next to his ear. Then he looks at me like, "Wha? Didja say somethin'?"
