I am new here..........I have a westie that will be celebrating her 14th birthday at the end of the month.......I have had her since she was 8 weeks old, her name is LucE. My husband, my parents and other members of my family have started expressing concern as to what I will do when something happens to her. I even worry what I will do. I try not to think about that. Her and I are inseparable. Should I be preparing myself in someway?

Hi Welcome to Chazhound!
I don't really think there is much you can do to prepare for loosing your best friend. Just remember to cherish every moment you have with her, and love her as I'm sure you have been. You've had her a very long time which must be wonderful, I always love when people have dogs that they were raised with.

Hi and welcome to Chazhound. :)
I agree that you should really just enjoy and cherish every moment with her..this is honestly nothing that will ever prepare someone to lose loved ones.
