Getting that pawprint (in the mail in my case), was both a wonderful and heartbreaking event. (((hugs)))

As hard as getting it back was, you are going to cherish that forever. When my horse died, my instructor caught off a section of her tail (which is going to be made into a bracelet) but also called our farrier to take off her front shoes so I could have them. I miss her so much, but the fact that I have parts of her is comforting.

I'm glad that you're getting a lot of support because talking about it helps a lot and I know that when Indie died, it only made me more upset that my friends didn't offer me "a shoulder to cry on" but I did feel better when writing in a journal and reading back through the training log.

The good memories is what will comfort you the most, knowing she couldn't have had a better life than she did because she was truly blessed.
