I finally added a page for Rose on my website. I've been wanting to do it for a long time. It's hard to believe that after all this time I still can't get though a trip down memory lane without drowning in a puddle of tears.
Rose came to me when she was only 6 years old, already blind and deaf from neglect. This little dog had such an amazing spirit, kind heart, and devoted and loving soul.
Rose was Amos's grandmother, though until she passed away, I didn't even know that Amos existed.
Rose was a breeder neglect case and I brought her home after helping to shut this person down. I had Rose only a few short years but they're years that I will never forget and Rose was a dog that will be in my heart forever.
Rose passed away in my arms on a Saturday after a terribly violent seizure.
On Monday, I called the lady who led me to Rose originally, to thank her for Rose and to tell her of her passing.
She could not believe what I was telling her. On Friday, the day before Rose died, she was informed that the "breeder" was up and running again and that she had Amos, Rose's grandson. He was living the same awful life that Rose had once lived, in a dark basement, kenneled 23 hours/day.....and she asked me if I could take him.
I know this sounds strange, but it was as if Rose knew that Amos, her grandson, needed help. Rose died on Saturday and Amos was in my arms on Tuesday. I would have done anything to have Rose back but I really feel that Amos is with me now because Rose decided that that's how it should be.....
The pictures aren't great but here's Rose's page -
