Indy was extremely itchy when we got her at 8 weeks (just after her vaccs). We gradually switched her over from Purina to Canidae, added some flax oil to her diet, and bathed her in an oatmeal bath and it calmed down. But, it's now starting to resurface. She's scratched a sore spot on her belly and chewed a raw spot on the side of one paw pad. The vet didn't see anything to speak of, and the "scratch the ear margins" test for mites didn't seem to suggest she has them.

Thoughts? Our older dog has seasonal allergies, but it seems awfully young for a pup to get them.

I had a rottweiler that had something like that when she was a pup wasnt mites I got some omega 3 oil for dogs and squirted that in her mouth once a day and it went away, you could try that, she could be allergic to something in the garden , the omega 3 oil will help....

It could be food allergies, but she's on Canidae which is supposed to be low for food allergies. And the vet thinks that seasonal allergies take a while to develop, so she is too young.
