Art update: slowly but surely

So I am making progress on Strider's portrait. Slowly, but it's happening. I WILL get it done! lol Have done nothing with his head so far. I will probably end up bluing it out and repainting it completely. It's a little big.





I am happy with how the medallion is going. The green in the background will need a wash to lighten it up, but I like it.

Secondly, I started another one. Despite my vow to not start on another long haired dog I ended up doing this portrait of my friend's borzoi. It is totally not finished. Mainly, things are blocked in right now. It is acrylic on bristol board. Definitely a different kind of challenge than oil.

Oh, that second one is coming out AWESOME so far. I am loving watching the progress on the Strider painting... can't wait to see it finished one day. =>

In my opinion the head fits the body very well, it doesn't look too big for it...I really like it!
