Hi Every one: I am going to be very emotional here writting this tribute to my dog. I appoligise but it holds a load of truth for me.
We all have been given a gift and we all need to find what that gift is and learn to use it as best and as close to God as we can.
Well God blessed me with a wonderful dog named Teka. This dog would be my heart for many yrs even if she had issues from the begining. We worked them out and she would become the top dog in my life.
Well we had a lot of dogs back then and i had to chose which dog would stay and which dog would have to go. All of my dogs were wonderful, but there was just something about my tiker. So as i weeded the group out I would end up keeping 4 dogs.
Well eventually it would lead to being only me and teka in the end. Teka was a awesome young lady that would die for me as I would have died for her. The one day I had left her in the run out side and to find her the next day out of the pen and bleeding extensively. Her left hind leg had the flesh removed right from the knee to the base of the food. Puncture wounds all over it. Another dog had attacked her and removed all the muscle and fatty tissue.
I called the Police and they sent the Sergent. He did not know what to say and or do. We both investigated the pen together. The gate was still closed and it looked as though another animal reached in and pulled the wires out and off the bottom of the run. I knew that Teka would not do such a thing and the sign were of a dog attack.
I ran her to the vets. My vet said I have never in my life dealt with a wound like that before. I told him can you help her or not? He was dumb founded. Buy this time we had 3 choices 1) Have her destroyed 2) amputate the leg 3) try to repair the injury.
So we decided to do the last one. Repair he leg. The Vet took Straws and cut them into pieces. He let me stay with the dog in the surgery room. He began to stitch her up and it would still leave a large gap and open area. I would have to change the bandages each and every day. It was so extensive and expensive but as long as it worked I did not care.
Now the big problem was that Teka had been breed 2 weeks prior to the attack and we did not know if she would abort the pups or not. When I brought Teka home from the vets that day she had gushed all over the place so I called the vets and asked if she had aborted. He stated yes seems to have. So As far as my dog was okay I did not care.
We had weekly vet visits to secure that the leg was healing, Low and behold it was doing wonderfully. We did not have to amputate and or destroy my dog. Well guess what this wonderful freind of mind ended up delivering 11 healthy pups too.
Now as life would carry on, where I went Teka went. She and I had such a bond that no one would have ever broken. This dog went through hell and back as I did. This dog was sent to me from God. she was my strength when I did not have any. She would go through life as I went through it.
She lived in my home when I had a home, she went to work with me when I had a job , she was homeless when I was homeless. The two of us walked the streets for two months not ever letting go of each other. When I had a vehicle she lived in it with me. When we found a home she stayed with me.
To be honest I sincerely lost it when I lost my girl. I miss her so much today and just want her to know that I truly still hold her dear in my heart. God blessed me with a dog that had more to give than any human did. I am so happy that I still have a peice of her with me today. Hey guy's gal's thanx for listening.
