Yes. Definently get a bag.

I also got a flash, case for flash, extra batteries and charger for flash, extra mem card for camera, extra battery and charger for camera. I really want to get one of those tiny tripods right now for taking pics of the dogs at "eye level" - well at least for them.

Battery and charger should come with the camera.

What you'll need in addition to the camera/lens kit is a bag, a cloth for wiping your lens and some lens cleaner. A very important thing to keep in mind is keep the lens cleaner in a separate pocket from the camera - and keep it in a plastic bag. Trust me when I say that the tops do come off those bottles and cell phones can absorb a suprising amount of cleaner fluid.

I generally use the same cleaner I use for my glasses, so nothing too fancy. Just remember not to spray the lens itself. Spray the cloth and the clean using a circular motion starting in the middle and working your way out. :)

I put this so far in my amazon wish list thingy:

memory card reader/flash drive
Tripod (tall one) its 70"
Nikon camera remote control thingy
Camera armor (rubbery camera suit thingy)
Memory Card sandisk 4 GB
Nikon lens cleaner kit

I know I need a bag but i just cant seem to find one that is not beyond hideous..

the wish list isnt exactly what im getting NOW lol its a wish list.. so im gonna work on getting everything little by little.. camera first of course lol

I have a crumpler 6 million dollar home in black and I LOVE IT.
It holds my D300 with whatever lens attached, sb600, sb400, fisheye, a prime or two, and another zoom if I want.:D

Well, depending how much you are willing to spend on the bag,
I hear Crumpler's and Shootsac's are nice. :D I'm not sure how great they are, but they look nice..and seem good. Pretty :)
You should NOT have linked Shootsac.
I have too much stuff to do today to be sitting and browsing that site all day for a SUPER cool camera bag.

D@mn you!:lol-sign:
