considering alaskin husky, need advice...

I live in Minnesota and have never owned a dog before. I live in a woodsy neighborhood with a pretty big yard. My family is looking for a dog and i really like alaskin huskies. Im ready for the responsibilitys of a dog. I just want to know if you think this would work and what special needs this dogs requires. Thanks for any help, and if this dog wouldnt work, what would, im looking for a lovable active dog

Most Alaskan Huskies are not pets but working dogs.

I am a Musher an personally i like Siberian Huskies. Yet Alaskans are faster and better racing dogs. Also read my post on Sibes your pretty much in for the same thing with an Alaskan.

Well I own a Siebeian Husky and she is the best dog. She does need a lot of exersice thow and she can not be left of a leash at all. But she is a very good family dog
