When I'm using a forced air dryer on the dogs I stuff cotton balls in my ears and theirs. They aren't spooked by noises really, but they definitely seem a lot more comfortable with the cotton in. Just don't forget to take it out.

What are you looking to protect their ears from, exactly?

I use cotton balls for pretty much any situation where I don't want something in the dogs' ears.

Some military/K9 and hunting supply sites have ear plugs for dogs, but they'd be for medium/large breeds. I think your best bet would be cotton balls.

Oh cotton balls. Good idea. Reason I am asking is because we do a lot of target practice with guns and since we usually just go up a mountain the dogs always enjoy coming with us. So I thought some kind of ear protection would be a good idea.
