They both listened so well at the park that I decided to take them to the adjacent dog-friendly hiking trail. This was our first *ever* off leash hike and they were fantastic...

... until Rowan decided to jump off of a ~7 foot high rock/cliff.

Not pictured: Me having an absolutely melt down, convinced my dog WHO I REALLY THOUGHT WAS SMARTER THAN THAT had killed himself, mere moments earlier.*

*don't worry, the very first thing I did (after nearly peeing myself in terror) was run and check him over to make sure he was okay. THEN I took a picture of him. The moral of the story is, my dogs can be trusted on hikes but we're going to find flatter terrain for our adventures!

Haha! Yay Rowan and Riff, off-leash hiking is the best! If it makes you feel better, Hugo, who I like to think is super smart, jumped 2-3 feet down into a river last weekend and then realizes that the water was over his head and he had no way to get back up. I panicked and had to walk along the bank as he followed me until there was a spot I could crawl down and lift him up. Confident dogs are crazy!

And I love the pictures! They both look super fun and full of personality.

Rhys did the same thing when he was a baby puppy!! OMG I thought he would drown. He was maybe five months old? And had never been swimming in deep water. Terrifying.

What a scare, but I'm glad Rowan is ok.

Rowan & Riff; just can't get enough of them. Liked seeing all the pictures, out in the dirt and woods hiking is the place to be.
