I wanted to know if I can feed my small dogs large breed adult? The only difference between that formula and the one I am currently feeding is the addition of L-Carnitine and Taurine. These are both ingredients that I want in my dogs' food so I was considering feeding the Large Breed Adult instead.

Theoretically it's possible, yes. I have a few clients who feed Innova Large Breed Senior to their small dogs for example, since the nutrient composition works out better for them than the regular Adult.

However, you need to be aware that these large breed foods are overall designed to deliver nutrients in a larger portion size, so you have to make sure the dog can eat enough of the food to get all he needs but not gain weight.

If the taurine and carnitine are the only reason you'd want to switch, why not add them as a supplement to what you are currently feeding?

Thanks for the input, Mordy. I will consider supplementing instead. It makes more sense. Thanks again!
