New computer - Windows 8 arrrrggggg!

I'm think of updating my laptop to windows 8. It's not too expensive right now (30€ until January 31st) and you get 5 lisences, so SO and I are wanting to switch over my laptop and his desktop. My dad is switching his over as well, though he mostly runs linux. We'll see.

I thought you could have the traditional desktop? Can't you just click the "desktop" key on metro and switch over to your "traditional" desktop - just without the start button, because everything you found under "start" is now on the metro.

The computers at work have Windows 8. All I can say is the search function is wonderful. That's how we've found things so far, like, the calculator, desktop, etc. lol

It does seem like Windows 8 is trying to be more Apple-ish, however it's way more confusing!

I have windows 7 ... Wait there is no word in windows 8? Can someone give me the windows 8 run down, please? Lol
