Well, Cody is 18 pounds and although the breed is only supposed to be 10-15 pounds at full growth i've never seen him as being overweight? It could just be me though... He is extremely muscular in his thighs and arms so that could add a few pounds I guess:p Any opinions would be appreciated!:D

Nope, not at all. Some breeds turn out larger than normal.

Actually, I met a SHeltie today who is twice the size of the normal Sheltie. The whole litter turned out too big, and weren't "showable"

I've also known a HUGE HUGE GHUEGHUGHEUGH Asutrailian Shepherd. It's perfectly normal. Dulce is a petite Pit Bull :)

He's just big, not fat. He looks like he's in great shape.

yup Ruckus (sheltie) is 22 lbs, 21 inches.
a sheltie isnt suppose to be above 16 inches, and i think 17lbs.
so it depends on the dog

Thanks RD!

Rabbitsarebetter: That's good to know its normal cause Ruckus isn't overweight AT ALL so the breed standards can be stretched a little I guess, LOL... BTW, Ruckus is ADORABLE!

I think he looks great too! You see so many overweight dogs these days, but he's not one of them.
