Well.. the AKC and the CKC are different in which breeds they recognize.

CKC for me is;

Sporting - Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever
Hounds - Saluki
Working - Leonberger
Terrier - Bull Terrier I guess - I honestly am not a Terrier fan
Toy - Papillon
Non-Sporting - Keeshound
Herding - Belgian Tervuren(obvious)

for the AKC I'd pick;

Sporting - Flat-Coated Retriever
Hound - Irish Wolfhound
Working - Great Pyrenees
Terrier - AmericanStaffordshire Terrier
Toy - Pomeranian
Non - Sporting - Schipperke hehe they are Mini Belgians anyways :)
Herding - Belgian Tervuren
Misc Class - Tibetan Mastiff

Hmm.. I notice a pattern here.. i love breeds that I can brush lots and fluff up for the show lol!!

Working Dogs: It would have to be between the Giant Schnauzer, the Akita and the Black Russian - leaning toward the Russian as they haven't been recognized for as long and haven't had as much time to be ruined.

Sporting Dogs: Either the Irish Water Spaniel or the Spinone

Hounds: Either the Irish Wolfhound or the Otterhound . . . or maybe the Bloodhound

Terriers: The Bull or the Airdale

Toys: The Pug (the littlest molosser) or the Crested (Toby has completely won me over, lol), or maybe a Ripley . . . .

Non-Sporting has to be the Shiba Inu

Herding: Nope, not gonna say GSD . . . I don't want an AKC spec GSD. They've ruined my dogs. I'd have to go with one of the Aussies or the Briard

Miscellaneous: Either the Tibetan or the Dogue de Bordeaux - leaning toward the Tibetan

Sporting: Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever
Hound: Pharaoh Hound
Working: Siberian Husky or the Rottweiler (sorry, couldn't just choose 1 for that one!)
Terrier: Border Terrier I guess...but to be truly honest, terriers aren't for me at all..
Toy: Miniature Pinscher but again, toy breeds really aren't my type..
Non-Sporting: Dalmatian
Herding: Belgian Groenendael (Though I really love all four varieties)
Misc: Beauceron

There are also 2 breeds that aren't recognized by the CKC or AKC as far as I know that I'd love to have aswell and they are the Hungarian Mudi & the Dutch Shepherd.

OK, I won't be able to pick dogs, the list will be too long.

But I do have a question, why aren't Beauces in the "working dog" category... I mean they are working dogs right?!!! Their breed is in the "herding" group... just curious.

Honestly I have no idea, I just went off the AKC website.

This is interesting, some people like the same things and some answers are way different.
I agree with what some of you said- terriers aren't for me, I just chose what I thought what the cutest one lol.
