Why does my pet dog only wants to have male dogs around?

Hi,
I am having problem with my dog. I noticed my pet dog snoppy only plays with male dogs only, he actually runs the female dogs, I mean he chases them away, and humps his male companions, does this means he is gay? Are there gay animals, please put my mind at ease here. Anyone out there ever had this experience with any pet. Thanks.

Some people get along with one sex better than the other, and the same can go for dogs. Many 'selective' dogs prefer companions of the opposite sex, but there's also no reason they couldn't prefer dogs of the same sex.

Humping is more frequently due to excitement and status-related behaviour, as opposed to a sexual act.

It doesn't mean he's homosexual, and it's not abnormal.

I have two male dogs but I had never seen such type of behaviour in them and have no idea about this but according to me it can be due to the choice of the pets not because they are abnormal.
