The Roach

Sorry, I've been pretty absent of late. Between Paco's death and our new store I've been so preoccupied and busy, which ultimately is a good thing but is not good for sharing cute pictures.

So Xochitl (So-Chee) has a new English nickname. You can now call her "The Roach"... it's a variation of "Soche the Roach" which is what Aaron dubbed her the first night we had her. Now it's simply become her primary name, so don't worry about pronouncing weird words anymore (except for maybe "Xoloitzcuintle").

Anyhow, she's been really instrumental in keeping me happy right now. I'll start crying and then she'll do something cute that snaps the spell and you can't help but laugh.

When she falls asleep she does this thing where she tucks her face flush to the floor or whatever she's sleeping on. It's hard to see, but she's doing it here. Cracks me up every time.

I really do think puppies help the grieving process. I know one of the only things that's keeping my spirits up after Ilsa's death last week is that a new puppy is coming home this summer.

Funny thing is that her best friend at dog day care is a Min Pin named Monty. He actually resource guards her. When they put her in the population today he turned around and chased away all the dogs around her. If she's sleeping on the pillow he'll chase away any dog that comes near her. I wonder what he's going to do when she grows to be twice his size...

Oh, and, yes, she's a Xoloitzcuintle.

Paco passed away? I'm sorry I missed this.. I searched your posts, but could not find anything on it. I am so, so very sorry. He was such a gorgeous pittie boy.

She is absolutely adorable! Meg also insists on sleeping with her nose tucked in; if I can't provide a blanket or pillow, she will tuck it under her own paw.

However busy life may be right now, I think we need to insist on pictures at least weekly while she grows. All in favor?
