Finished my cat portrait. Actually, it's not really my cat. It's sort of the whole neighborhoods cat. I think we all feed him.

Acrylic and colored pencil on watercolor paper.

I love the finished work i do i do!!!!!. THe expressions is exquisite! I read a children's story about a cat that lived between two families and they didn't know that each other thought they "owned" the cat. Had one too along time ago that would live with many different people until Kelly took him in and he became a travel cat, it suited him well for he adored the lizards in Florida. i had found him on the paseo bridge in the rain, stopped the car and scooped him in, named him Vince for he had one ear. WHat he was doing on such a busy bridge is beyond me.
How do you do your acrylic on paper? as a wash? DO you soak your paper first?

Thanks everyone!

Smkie: I apply the acrylic using an airbrush. Intresting enough though, I do use the airbrush to apply the acrylic like I'm putting down a wash of color. I normally use illustration board, but when I'm not going to use alot of different colors sometimes a thick piece of watercolor paper suits me fine.
