i've made the same observation as athe, pickiness seems to be more of a breed trait than a gender related issue. from my experience, shih tzus are the worst to deal with.

I have never had a picky dog...just scarfers or inhalers!!!
I don't allow them to free feed and have always fed a very good quality food which makes a difference IMO. I am a firm believer that picky eaters are not born, they are made. If they can hold out for something better they will!!!!

wow only if Toki was just an eater then I wouldn't even have to buy can food and worry that he won't even eat them at all.
