Default seperation anxiety

is there any way to deal with this? my basset hound is horrible, i trip over him every time i step and i cant take a crap without him whining until the bathroom door opens. what is the cause, common cure and is there a way to train you dog out of it? he stays inside every second we are home, but stays outside with our other dog while we are away

awww he just wants his loves LOL..

no, mine do this all the time, when i go take a shower they whine at the door, they hate closed doors IN the house, outside they are fine if we shut the door. how old is your pup? what i do as silly as it sounds, i talk to them thru the door ( kinda like a little kid) and either they "talk" back or they go do something else. i think as pups they want to be close to the ones they love and that is ok, like now i am preggers with twins and boy my two are crazy protective, they get all curled up on the couch and such and will not leave my side for a sec, when i leave for like 20 minutes, they come a jumpin a whining like i was gone for days on end .. then they settle down once they get their loves. recently i can leave for like 30 minutes and they are fine, any longer than that and they have cows with pink and blue dots LMAO!!

but, if you want to know the reason and such just google it or look on here, i am sure someone can tell you why.

Fred (basset) is estimated at about 6 years old, and i think we have had him somewhere around 7 months (we adoted him from a rescue) it has gotten worse since we got him, but our other dog Rusty isnt nearly as bad?? he stays out all the time and only barks for a minute or two when we pull in the driveway. but rusty is younger and we have had him longer, is he just more used to the routine perhaps?
