I've been looking for information and reading a lot of sites about this breed since I first heard of them, but I haven't found that much information so I thought I'd see if anybody here has any information/experience with them.

I know there was a member here who had one...

I have one. A 5 year old Male. he is AWESOME!! Very driven, great with people, kids and other pets, and VERY protective of the house/property. I bred him to another OEB 3 years ago. Free breeding/whelping we had 10 pups.

There are very different lines with very different temperments, depending on what the particular kennel is using in their lines as outcrosses. Some are bred for functionality and are incredibly dirven and protective. Others are "mushier" often backyard bred to be nothing more than pets. Research carefully.

I agree. The standard is so loose and open to interpretation with these dogs at current time. The IOEBA is trying to reign it in.

Here's ours, Chipper. He came from an owner/breeder whose family uses the dogs as all around utility dogs on the farm.
