Default Need advice on ways to train a 10 month dachshund

I have a 10 mont old mini dachshund names Julian, and no matter what we do we can not seem to get him trained. We take him outside, and he ususally goes. But if he has to go at the moment he goes, no matter where he is. SO basically he will go outside but he has accidents. We also have 2 cats, could it be that he is trying to mark his teratory

It could be. You need to rule out any kind of physical problems first, though. If he's got a slight urinary tract infection, or a yeast problem (which most vets don't recognize), it can make the urge to go so strong that he won't be able to help himself.

After you've ruled out any physical reasons, start writing down what time he eats and drinks and then note the time when he eliminates. That way you can get an idea of his pattern and get ahead of him, which will reinforce the idea that he is to go outside - not in the house.

Bear in mind that sometimes it is more difficult to housetrain a toyed breed than their larger cousins.
