Default Good news....

I just want to post to say my insurance company for shadow have agreed to pay out the vetinary charges we've incurred (600 so far)! Yeah!

They were really dragging their heels, said they needed to speak to the vet for her history, I'd already told them she didn't have a hsitory because the first time we took her to the vet was the day after we bought her. Then they said they needed to speak to the breeder, basically to see if he had noticed any of the symptoms, because if he had, it would have been a pre-exisiting condition and they wouldn't have paid for the treatment. Sometimes I really hate insurance companies. Then they needed the breeders vet contact details so they could contact the vet (which she never visited, which I told the insurance company) just so they could verify with the vet, that he had never checked shadow.

So I spoke to the breeder only to find out he's not registered with a vet! (my heart sank at this point), I thought thats it, the insurance company wont pay out because his dogs haven't had their vaccinations up to date. Alarm bells were really going off in my head at this point, what type of breeder is he, he's a kennel club registered breeder, you'd think there'd be regulations about this type of thing. So I rang and told the insurance company, and they said they'd ring me back to let me know if they were going to pay out.

I figured no chance would they fork out, the mother dog should be checked over after and during pregnancy surely. I resigned myself to the fact I wouldnt be able to take shadow to the specialist at the end of the month for her MRI scan (i cant afford it unless the insurance company pay) and that I would never find out what is wrong with her? can it be cured? I was heart broken. ......

Then I received the magical phone call, "We've agreed to pay the vetinary charges and travel expences you've incurred"... Wooooopeeeeee!!!

So now we'll get to go to see the specialist, and maybe I'll eventually find out what is wrong with shadow.

Ill keep you all posted, our visit to the Specialist is 27th July.

So glad to know the insurance company is upholding their part of the contract! Now, I want the next news to be good news that Shadow is going to be just fine . . .

Shadow the Staff, I'm so glad you were able to get the insurance company to cover the costs. Please keep us updated on what you find out after the MRI.
