I always have questioned any pure bred dog of good (?) breeding for less than $300....maybe today that should be $500. Any good breeder will put the prices up where only serious owners will be interested. Your $50 dogs have had no health checks etc.....You'd be better off going to a HS where you get what you see for the same price.

A good dobe just pet quality will be at least 500. If you want anything better plan on 1500. You also have to figure in ears, which should be done.

First off, the puppy's parents should have had all the necessary health tests for cardiomyopathy, v Willebrands, hip xrays. And of course the ears should be cropped if purchased from a country that allows cropping. The minimum for a quality puppy would be $1200. Unfortunately all the old, trusted breeders are either deceased, or no longer breeding. The newer bloodlines are nothing spectacular. Just remember to avoid the places like Hoyt or Kimbertal!!!!!
