Both Khaki and Lucy have swollen Lymph nodes on their faces, about an inch below their eyes, on both sides....I took them to the vet this morning, and they took a needle and drew some of the stuff out. They said there was nothing serious going on, and that it looked to be some sort of allergy. The only thing they have started doing lately is digging in my back yard (which is red clay for the most part, and is dry, so there is a lot of dust). The vet said there may be something in the dirt that they are allergic too....
Anyone else ever experienced anything like this? |

I have never heard of lymph nodes in the face. I thought dogs had lymph nodes pretty much the same places we do, which is in the neck and under the arms. I believe they also have them in the rear legs. Are you sure you didn't misunderstand something? Or maybe I'm wrong.....but I don't think so.

The vet did mention saliva glands, but she did call the stuff that she extracted from the "nodes" as Lymph, something or the other.....whatever the stuff is called that's in Lymph nodes....

Yeah my chi has larger lymph nodes due to allergies. They've been bigger than normal ever since she was a pup. Are the ones on he face kinda back behind the jaw under the ear area? That's where Sage's are and they are little balls you can find and grab...haha she also has some smaller ones under armpits that get swollen during allergy season.

No, theirs is located about and inch or so below their eyes, and about a quarter inch towards their nose. Little Pea size lumps.....

I am 99***37; sure these can't be lymph nodes.

Well, the vet never said Lymph Nodes, but she did mention Lymph....
Here's a pic of Khaki....The yellow circles are approximately where the pea size lumps are located....Lucy has the same thing, but one side is much more swollen than the other... When I noticed it on Friday, I figured it had to be something with the dirt in my back yard that they were digging in.....All weekend I didn't let them out unsupervised, so they weren't able to dig or eat the dirt.....the swelling on both dogs did go down a bit over the weekend....
