I am starting to wonder if Whisper is purebred..

Well, Whisper curls her tail when she wags it, and Hershey doesn't. Its kind of like a Rottie does with it's tail. Hershey doesn't curl his tail unless he is alert of something.. Either that this pup has a lot of personality! What do you guys think by looking at her pictures?

She definitely looks pure to me, I've never seen a lab with a "curly" tail--I didn't know otter-tails could curl.

Charlie had a curly tail when he was a puppy but it straightened out at about 5 months. He's a GSD, not a lab, but maybe Whisper's tail will straighten out???

Chloe is supposedly a GSD/Lab mix and hers was straight until she got older and then it started to curl

i know collies, shelties, labs, GSD, all pure bred with curley tails. some times they straighten out, sometimes they dont.
we call this a "gay tail"

She's not the best bred Lab though, I know many "AKC papered" Labs (total BYB's) that have curled tails. That and ear set seem to be the first things to go wonky when the breeding sucks.

One of my neighbours has a purebred Lab with a curled tail aswell. Just a result from poor breeding.

I agree with Toller, my father's dog is a chocolate lab named Bosco and his tail is curly. His wife says it's because of poor breeding, dad just says Bosco is retarded.
