Default The Natural Diet??

Has anyone ever heard of this diet? Since NB got recalled I have been making home prepared meals for Ruckus. I got this book called “Holistic guide for a healthy dog” by Wendy Volhard, and Kerry Brown, D.V.M

I would like your opinion of this diet.

Breakfast : 2 oz dry grain mix, 1 table spoon safflower oil, 100 mg vit c, 1 small egg 4x a week, 1 t backstrap molasses, 100 IU vit e, 25 mg vit b 12 complex,
½ table spoon yogurt

Dinner: 9 oz of meat day 1-5, 9 oz of cottage cheese on day 6, ½ t cod liver oil, ¼ t kelp, 325 mg garlic capsules, 1 t wheat germ, 1 t dry herbs, 2oz liver, 100 mg vit c, 1.5 t apple cider vinegar, ½ t brewers yeast, 3.5 t bone meal, 1.5 t wheat bran, 1 t fruit some days.

And on the 7th day Ruckus will be fasted during dinner, and eat breakfast as normal.
Okay, is it just me or is this a TON of supplements? Is all of that necessary? What I have been doing (because I am low on funds at the time) is nothing but meat for his dinner, and the breakfast as mentioned other than no molasses or safflower oil.

The meat in this book is supposed to be raw. However, there is not much mention of bones. She recommends two raw meaty bones a week.

I am just starting to do research on this topic, so I am far from an expert. So anyone that wants to correct me, go for it!

But I read that grains are not necessary at all. I also seems overly complex with too many supps.

This is one of my favorite pages so far. You should definitely check out the recipe section.
