Default The GoodLife Recipe?

Has anyone heard of this? They have both cat and dog food. I keep seeing commercials for it on TV and I tried doing a search for it, and all I came up with was coupons and their website, which was useless. They say it contains real ingredients and things, like chicken and peas and spinach. Has anybody seen this food anywhere?

If it can be bought in a grocery store it's no good. IMO I have done a ton of research on dog foods and you get what you pay for. Usually the companies that advertise on TV are junk as far as nutrition and well balanced. And contain lots of fillers and BHA/BHT. Look for a food that has human grade ingredients, no corn, by-products, wheat, brewers rice, ect. ect. ect.....

This is all I found so far:

Mars Pet Care Co. will launch a high-end pet food brand next month with a slate of in-store promotions and a TV and print campaign.

The new brand, Goodlife Recipe, includes a range of cat and dog food and snacks. Marketing for the brand plays up its premium ingredients and mainstream price.

***8220;Customers told us they wanted higher-quality food options at an affordable price,***8221; said Margaret Mitchell, Goodlife Recipe***8217;s marketing director, in a statement.

Goodlife bows in stores next month and will roll out nationally by March. The line includes 12 SKUs of dry food and snacks for dogs, and 8 SKUs of dry cat food and treats. The brand will sell through supermarkets, mass-merchandise stores, and specialty pet stores including PetSmart, Petco, and Pet Supplies Plus.

Mars will sample Goodlife via a tie-in with sister brand Pedigree, including cross-ruff coupons in packages of Pedigree. In-store promotions for Goodlife will use on-shelf couponing, Catalina Checkout Coupons and floor ads. Multiple FSIs support. Catapult Marketing, Los Angeles, handles.

TV and print ads play up moments of bonding between pets and their owners. TBWA/Chiat/Day, Los Angeles, handles advertising.

Goodlife Recipe Pet Care Co. was formed earlier this year as a division of Brentwood, TN-based Mars Pet Care. Both are owned by Masterfoods.

Here we go:

BRENTWOOD, Tenn., Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- According to a new study from The Goodlife Recipe(TM) brand, a new line of pet food products, 80 percent of cat and/or dog owners choose to treat their pets before they treat themselves. They want to give them the kind of life they'd like to lead. To meet the needs of these pet-lovers, today, The Goodlife Recipe(TM) brand launches the next generation of pet food with a full line of main meals, snacks and treats for cats and dogs. Each product is made from a balanced recipe that never compromises on either the taste pets want or the nutrition they need.

(Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20070205/CGM019 )

Carefully developed using a proprietary combination of six key ingredient groups, foods include real natural beef, chicken or salmon; garden vegetables like peas and spinach; whole grains like brown rice; and have no artificial flavors, preservatives or fillers. And in taste tests, pets loved it!

A Need for Balance: The Goodlife Recipe(TM) Brand Story

Most cat and dog foods today are either healthy or taste appealing to pets. The idea to create a premium quality line of cat and dog food with both qualities was born almost two years ago by a group of pet-loving experts who realized that one or the other was not enough for these important family members. After consulting other pet owners and finding they felt the same way, product development began. The result: a recipe of great ingredients with a perfect balance of both the best nutrition possible and taste their pets would love, not just tolerate, and without any artificial flavors, preservatives or fillers.

"We developed The Goodlife Recipe(TM) products to ensure the food we give our pets provides more than just the basics for good health and taste. Our philosophy involves a balanced approach and focuses on adding enjoyment to their lives. The Goodlife Recipe(TM) is all about feeding pets nutritional, great-tasting foods that embody the love we feel for them," says Fiona Tomlin, The Goodlife Recipe(TM) brand vice president.

Why Now? Pets Aren't Just People, Too.

The humanization of pets is nothing new and the relationship continues to evolve as pets further prove their importance in our lives. A recent survey conducted for The Goodlife Recipe(TM) brand shows celebrating life with pets is increasingly based on a more shared relationship because people are finding pets offer real life benefits above and beyond affection and companionship, such as:

-- keeping them active (62***37;),
-- driving them to exercise (64%) and play (58%) when they might not make
the effort themselves,
-- motivating them to eat healthier (38%), and
-- even preparing them for parenthood (47%).
It's no wonder the data shows a shift from pet lovers providing what they want for their pets -- diamond-studded collars and nail polish -- to things their pets might actually want and need:

-- 45 percent of pet owners want to come home from activities because they
know it's what their pets' want
-- 68 percent of people make room for pets in bed when "asked" and
-- 52 percent make sure their pets get more flavorful and balanced diet
than they give themselves.
"Our pets enrich our lives so much, we want to give them even more in return. That's why, as the importance of sharing our lives with our pets evolves, we want to give them more than coats, spa treatments and five course meals to match our own. We want to give them a good life: the life we'd like to lead ourselves. And the pet-lovers here started with what we know best, the food," adds Tomlin.

The Goodlife Recipe(TM) Food for Dogs is offered in two main meal varieties, and is available in 4-pound, 7-pound, 15.5-pound, and 31.1-pound bags (beef only):
