Any problems with this?
Our male Min Pin is an extremely finicky eater, when we first got him we tried many different foods, and he'd eat them for a few days, then he'd starve himself rather than eat. I know many people say to just keep offering the same food and eventually he'll eat it, but at one point he went two days without eating anything, which with a hyper little dog, can't be a good thing.
Anyway, the solution we found was to feed him a different food every day. The foods we use are Canidae, EVO Red Meat, and Nutro Max small bites. Alternating these three foods each day, he always eats without a problem. Also, to make it easier to know which food is on which day, we feed our two females the same way even though they'll eat the same thing day in day out if necessary. (Athena, who is nursing puppies right now is strictly on Canidae, and doesn't mind it.)
Is there any problem with constantly changing foods, or is it just a matter of convenience? In two years time, none of them have been sick at all, so I've always assumed that as long as we're willing to go through the trouble of having 3 different foods on hand, then it should be fine, but a little reassurance never hurt anyone. (Our vet says we should try to just get them on Science Diet and leave it as the only food, but obviously that's not an option I'd consider.)
Thanks in advance,
