Smkie,
I use Prismacolour pencil crayons. I have never tried Derwents? Are they a harder lead? Or just more durable? I find because the prismas are soft, they tend to crumble or break upon sharpening. Not sure if the sharpener is part of the problem, but I don't have any issues with my 6B or 8B pencils.

I like derwents because they have a creamy texture and blend imo far better then the ones you use. THey also have a water soluable pencil which is a delight to use. My daughter took my box of derwents to school when she was in jr high without my permission losing about half one way or the other. I was so ticked for they were about a dollar or so a piece back then, but well worth the money.

Oh man, I think I would be ticked too!
I found the Derwents at the art store that I frequent. A set of 72 is $99. The current set of prismacolours I have now (72) is $71.
Perhaps, when this prismacolour set is done, I will invest in the derwents. They have a set of 12 for $18, so I may try them in the mean time.
I do like the prismas, its just the breaking part that I hate - LOL.
Thanks for the recommendation Smkie!
