I use Prismacolour pencil crayons. I have never tried Derwents? Are they a harder lead? Or just more durable? I find because the prismas are soft, they tend to crumble or break upon sharpening. Not sure if the sharpener is part of the problem, but I don't have any issues with my 6B or 8B pencils.
