Plus by takeing Grace's advice your not handleing the problem. If you do all that Grace said, then your still not giveing the dog punishment for what he is doing wrong. You are punishing him for natural behavior. When dog does something wrong punish it then and not later after he has forgot what he did wrong. Trying to make him sit inside when he is trying to show you he has to pee is gonna make him think you are punishing him for needing to pee out side. Makeing him wait for his food is known as a trick you are useing it as a punishment. When people make their dog wait for food its later rewarded with a treat and blessing.

Grace gave very good advice, especially for this particular situation. The point is to establish in the dog's mind who is giving the orders, not to belittle the dog and treat it brutishly by banging on it with a rolled up newspaper.
I really hope, for your own safety, K train, that you don't try your own advice with a large, intelligent and dominant dog. |
