I'm sitting here crying with a pain in my stomach after seeing those pictures. Oh horrible for any animal to go through that. I have to commend the people who are trying to help Gypsy. Gypsy has really come far in healing in those second set of photos. I pray she recovers fully and lives the life she deserves with a good family.

Oh that poor poor creature!!! I haven't the words to describe my anger, hatered, and pity I feel on behalf on that poor dog!! And still after all that she seems so loving and trusting!! We humans are really a plague on this earth!!

Oh my GOSH! Whoever did that to her is plain STUPID and should be killed! I hate the way people treat animals now like there nothing and don't have feelings! I will try to donate as much as i can. I would love to donate to help her. I wish she was here so i could hug her so much.

This story is bittersweet. She was involved in dog fighting and has to fight for her life... That is the bitter part. But just look at those Pittie smiles at the end. That is wonderful. I know it may take awhile, but what goes around comes around. And those horrid people have theirs comin!

i in my heart wish they would have let her die in peace.( i don't mean leave her in the street, but to put her down) .as mean as that sounds, her recovery is long and painful..and i wouldn't have done it to her, as i wouldn't want someone to do it to me. A dog's nose and mouth are the most sensitive parts..i had a vet that tried to hard sometimes..i had one puppy that had been deprived of all nurishment the first three days and was so dehydrated when i found him that i didn't think he would live at all, but he struggled then he got a staff infection in his leg. It swelled up the size of a hotdog, and the vet kept sticking him with one needle after another (he screamed if the leg was touched, not whined), he died on the way home..and i felt i had brought him no favor in trying to keep him alive. It isn't because of how she looks that i wrote what i did. That vet tried to hard a couple more times, and there is just a point where i think dying is not the worst thing that can happen. I hope that she will be a spokeswoman for her kind..that at least would bring some reason for all her suffering. I had printed out the pic to take to my mom..she has no puter so that is the only way i can share what i see here and forgot they were on the scanner when Logan came over. I was horrified when he picked them up and said omg..what happened to this dog..so i went ahead and showed him the rest of the story on the post. He said i have 5 dollars do you think i can send it for her? I would adopt her right now. He meant it too, i saw no revulsion in has face..for a 10 yr old little boy i find his heart to be just huge. I hope she ends up with a Logan in her life.

I am so heart sick over this thread. I admire those who are trying to save her, but I too wonder about her quality of life. I think I would have cradled her, tell her how sorry I was that some one could do this to her, and let a vet pass her peacefully on.

Hmmm, it does make you wonder if they are helping to her to recover so that she will be a good figure head for the Pit Bulls plight?!! (That sounds really awful and cynical doesn't it!!) It's a question of how far gone is too far gone. I think I would have let her go peacefully.

Good news, all!

They just showed a piece on Gypsy on our local news. She's happy and wriggling and smiling and kissing on everyone gathered around her. She's on her way to the University of Tennessee Veterinary School in Knoxville, forty miles from me, for her treatment.

There's no quit in Gypsy! She's wriggling and romping on all three legs. Makes you smile and cry at the same time to see her. She's going to be a great spokesdog
