Mia after seeing those pics 3" does seem a little wide. Maybe Verde will get a 1.75-2" leather collar instead.

As long as the dog is not in any discomfort, I see nothing wrong with a wide collar. People dress dogs up in very whacky things, dye their fur, cut their body parts off, for the sake of fashion, so, I don't see much wrong with a collar. Mine are comfy in theirs.

I have a 65lb well muscled, big headed ACD who wears a 1 and 3/4 inch leather collar. Having the bull terrier in their lineage I think he looks great with it on
 .
