Firstly hi to everyone...
Ok... Im getting a new chi and im worried about her getting up and down the stairs. There are about 5 stairs that lead down to the backyard from my verandah, this is the only way to get down... will she cope with them... |

she should, when we got our pup off the street, we walked to this place one day, he was SO afraid to travel onn the stairs, lol
it should be right, if she has any training problems with them, treats are handy |

When in doubt, carry her. Falling down the stairs can seriously injure a chihuahua. Until she's grown up a bit and is more agile, I'd carry her down the stairs.. But that's just me.

yeah, the thing im mainly worried about is that if she wants to go to the toilet outside she has to go down the stairs ti get to the grass, i will be paper training her and the paper will be at my backdoor that leads onto the verandah. My shih tzu is paper trained, but she likes to go outside too.

what if you put little half steps inbetween just for her? They wouldn't have to be very big. that would help her out and probably giver her confidence
