Pugs were 90%

I must say though...it seems odd to use the same test on all those different breeds. They should all have different temperaments according to their breed standard and therefor should be tested accordingly.

I wouldn't expect a pug to react like a Fila and the testers shouldn't either

It is the same TEST, but they are "graded" based upon their breed's temperament and the individual's training. For instance, a Schutzhund trained GSD or Rottweiler that didn't react strongly to the aggressive stranger would fail, while a Whippet or Greyhound that didn't react would score well (or I should say wouldn't score poorly). They also have several evaluators working together to make the determination, so it's not just one person's pass/fail decision.

Border Collies
Tested - 227
Passed - 181
Failed - 46
79.7%

I think that's very high, considering that the breed is supposed to be wary of strangers, and they aren't exactly gundogs.

GSD:
2786 tested
2316 pass
470 fail
83.1%

It'd be interesting to see the fails here- maybe American bred show dogs that showed fear at some of the tests?

Someone said Labs were the most tested but it looks like the GSD has over 4 times more tested than Labs.

I would love to have this test done on Gunnar. I'm positive he'd pass.

I was at a test where several GSDs and Rotties failed (it was sponsored by a Schutzhund club, so that's the majority of the attendees - not conformation dogs). I saw quite a few dogs who were fearful of the aggressive stranger. You are not allowed to talk to the dog and many of these dogs didn't know what to do when they were approached in an aggressive manner, but someone not wearing a sleeve and following the "rules". They were so used to being told what to do every second, that when called upon to make their own decisions, they stood behind their owners and barked, which for those breeds will cause them to fail the test.
