It might be too rich of a formula for her?

What did the vet say about her vomiting? Was it just an upset tummy or what?

i don't know. I just called my mom and she said the vet said that she ate some canned food and went to the bathroom and there just waiting to see if she can keep it down. I just hope they don't recommend Pro Plan, because that the food in there office. And when I said I already knew some food to give he (she knew I taked to you guys) she said that I should be listening to my vet that actully saw my dog instead of a bunch of people I've never met. funny because she's never even met my vet...

That's funny because I took my dog to a HUGE university Vet hospital last month.. The doctor asked what I feed him and when I told her Canidae, she said "A can a day of what?" So I laughted and proceeded to tell her about it and other quality foods that I have fed in the past.. She didn't have a clue about any of them. I thought it was funny at the time, but it's really sad that they don't know more about nutrition.

My dog is currently at the vet hospital with throwing up, too. They want me to bring the nutritional info from Eagle Pack which I just started feeding him this week when I pick him up tomorrow. The vet said some of the 'new foods' might have too much fat for 'some of these guys' systems.

I've started a new thread to get information from someone on how to determine the way they calculate fat content on these foods. That's what the vet wants to know.

I've heard several vets who carry Eukanuba and Science DIEt products say that Innova was horrible A couple of times, I've had one of the dogs with me, so I've just asked, very sweetly, "does my dog look okay?" Of course, the answer is "your dog looks great/wonderful/extremely healthy, etc." Then I zing 'em with . . . they've eaten nothing other than Innova products since they came home with me as pups.

Many vets seem to ignore the fact that even the so called "newer" foods have to meet the same AAFCO standards as the "big name" ones, but that's to be expected, since they generally receive the little nutritional training they do get from material sponsored by pet food companies.

If a dog has pancreatic problems, a lower-fat food should be fed, but even in that case I'd go with a high-quality product made by manufacturers like Natura, Eagle Pack or Solid Gold etc. rather than poor quality ones like Purina or Science Diet.
