New pup, some questions

Well it's not like we are new to puppies or any thing but we got a puppy not too long ago and have some questions about her.

I noticed that one of her teeth still a puppy tooth is brown...is that normal? could it be because it's going to fall out soon? Is it rotted? and also she gets the hiccups a lot! It's an every day thing for her, are there any reasons for this? Do you think that she may grow out of it?

Any thing will help out a lot...she is about 4 months old, we are not 100 percent sure tho.

Not sure about the teeth, but I know puppies get hiccups sometimes. Most of the time its because they eat or drink to fast (or at least thats what I was told) but they usually slow down and 'grow out of it'

Oh, you should see ours hiccup! Shiva's 9 1/2 months old and still does it every now and then. Kharma's 5 months old now and she sometimes starts a round of hiccups while she's sound asleep. They do grow out of it, and it seems like the large dogs take longer. But it's soooo funny sometimes!

Hi, my two dogs both got hiccups a lot when they were puppies. They still get them once in a while to date. I watched them very closely (as these are the only children I can have, so the maternal instinct kicking in big time), my dogs would get the hiccups as puupies usually after they ate. They devoured everyhting so quickly I think it was air that filled them up more times than not.

I love puppy hiccups. My two seemed to learn that their food was not going to taken away from them and that they didn't have to eat it all at one time for fear of not getting any more, once they were comfortable in their surroundings and a little age kicked in, they didn't get them as much.

Does your little girl eat quickly and then start to play right after eating? Or go to sleep right after eating?

Well not really...she just randomly gets them.

Any thing about the tooth?

Don't know about dogs...but as a dental assistant...it's not a huge worry in a baby tooth for peeps. Sometimes when a tooth has been hit..and damaged, it will turn black. If a baby tooth..it doesn't pose a problem for the permanent tooth..it will fall out and be ok. Hoping it is the same with pups. Have you asked your vet? Let me know.

I have not seen that with my dogs teeth when they were puppies. I talked with a few of the canine moms in the neighborhood, and they all agreed if it is a baby tooth, it will fall out, and nothing should be brown after that.
