Just because you can keep a border collie in an apartment doesn't mean you should. Unless your apartment has a couple acres out back and either a flock of sheep or a tennis ball machine, a normal, healthy border collie will not be happy. They aren't just a one-walk-a-day breed. They're bred to run for hours, and more importantly they're bred to think on their feet. Trapping that big brain in a tiny apartment is cruel and unfair to the dog. Some breeds are appropriate for apartments and others can adapt. But I would never recommend a border collie to someone in an apartment, or even someone in a crowded city. They need space and mental and physical stimulation.
