Thanks By more drive and speed what do you mean exactly? Just curious, as I don't do anything special to get her raring to go - we literally just walk in there and do it and then celebrate haha.

She does cue off my body/verbals pretty well, but we still have a lot to improve on.

She really has trouble deciding which obstacle I'm wanting her to go with (my fault mostly for not telling her soon enough and/or turning my body). But once we SHOW her, she anticipates it and collects herself to do the obstacle she is supposed to do. One other thing we need to improve is the teeter. She's still way too cautious with it, though we have improved leaps and bounds. One reason that causes her to bail on it is if she is going too fast and is unable to collect herself before getting on the teeter.

But honestly, I do think I take for granted that I don't have to create any drive/speed in her and she just does it because she loves to... though I'm sure she could do better or go faster with another handler
Sorry, I just meant more speed on your part to get her moving a little quicker - handling will definitely come with time. I have taken 4 or 5 handling classes now and they are a godsend for sure!

Creating drive beforehand with tug, etc. is also a great way to get more speed out of a dog, though. Recon and I spend the 5 minutes before a run playing and warming up with tug to get him ready. He'd certainly run without it, but just like with dock diving - the more "intense" the dogs are, the faster they will run!
