What are the signs when the cancer spreads to the lungs?

Most times the signs would be shortness of breath and dry cough. In some cases, the dog shows no sign at all . The only way to know for sure is with a chest X-ray.

My dog is a 12 1/2 year old Whippet. He was recently diagnosed with splenic hemangiosarcoma and fibrosarcoma (sp?). It has been one month since last Saturday since he had his spleen removed. He got one dose of chemo, but it was very toxic to him and nearly killed him, so he isn't getting any more. My mother thinks that he will die from the cancer spreading to his lungs, so I was wondering what the signs were.

I'm sorry, yes, I remember you posted prior to this asking questions regarding hemangiosarcoma. Did your mother ever contact Professor Henry Lai, Ph.D?
For my Newf years ago when he was diagnosed with bone cancer and due to his size was unable to do amputation. We had regular visits to the Vet and chest X-rays were done to see if it had spread to the lungs. We had him put down before he suffered. I'm very sorry for what you are going through. I know how devastating it is. |
