Default Comparable foods to Royal Canin S/O?

With Beau's new issues....he now has to eat RC S/O for the rest of his life for his bladder issues.

And this is REALLY going to hit my pocket hard, are there any foods that are comparable to this food and can still do the same thing?

There are other brands of prescription foods (Science Diet and Purina) that make stone dissolution diets, but I don't know what the price difference would be. There aren't any commercial diets specifically targeted for stones, because it wouldn't be a complete and balanced diet, unfortunately.

That's what I thought. He doesn't do good on SD, but has always done well on Purnia products.

He's not eating dry food either, after some research me and my DH feel more comfortable feeding him just straight wet food and after doing the math, a case of canned food would last him well 24 days. And I found it online for 68.99 a case.

I wonder if that is cheaper then at a vet office?

I was going to say check online, prices are usually better. Chewy.com, etc. Still need a prescription but yeah.

Royal Canin has the best, IMO, but Purina is the cheapest, I believe, out of the 3 RX diets.
