Good tips here: http://www.babycenter.com/404_where-...-plane_7280.bc The comments have even more suggestions.

How long of a flight is it?

The flight is only 2.5 hours...she should be ok if I change her right before, but you never know. My mom said I can change her on the bench where the attendants sit.

Karen, how far along are you? I'm glad it was a good experience telling DHs family. I'm sure your parents will come around too.

His grandmother was almost in tears, and kept repeating, "I'm going to be a GG!" It was pretty darn cute. The funniest thing is how everyone said, "Thank you!" to us. Um, you're welcome? I feel like I should be getting a charitable donation receipt or community service hours if it's such a gift to people

It went a lot better than telling my parents, who are a little less thrilled. (I asked my dad if he wanted to be a grandfather, and his words were, "Do I have a choice?" ) I'm glad we saved DH's family for last--it was actually almost fun instead of stressful to share the news today.
Aw that's super cute! I love that you have it on video. I wanted to video my parents but there wasn't a way to do it subtly. Your parents....well they'll come around I bet. How are you feeling?

Mine contained a massive poop today! Yay! No blowouts! And I got another 8 in the mail! Yay again!

Everleigh is 4 months old already today. She had her physio assessment and passed with flying colours! She's actually ahead in some developmental milestones. But I got scolded for not having her on the floor enough. Looks like we're going to need a bigger mat.

Thought some of you mommies or mommies to be might be interested in this article that my Doula passed on to me today. Very interesting:

http://www.bellybelly.com.au/post-na...a#.UkC1iUrnYiR

"What Are The Benefits Of Placenta Encapsulation?

It is believed that consuming the placenta can:
•Help to balance your hormones
•Replenish depleted iron levels
•Assist the uterus to return to its pre-pregnancy state
•Reduce post-natal bleeding
•Increase milk production – this has been proven in a study
•Make for a happier, more enjoyable post-natal period
•Increase your energy levels"

Doug and I are planning on having one more baby so Nico has a sibling close to his age. I am considering doing this

12 weeks. Still early, but pretty much in the clear.

Feeling better Therapy is a wonderful thing. I'm so glad we have it on video. I have me telling DH, telling my parents (which I will skillfully edit), and want to find a way to video DH's face when we find out the gender too. Then I can show baby all these videos down the road.

I really think the potential risks outweigh any potential benefits. This isn't a regulated thing, and there are no medical studies backing up any of these claims--it's all anecdotal. Everything I read about it says it's likely "Placebo effect". I read one story where it made the woman extremely sick, since there is no regulation of what goes in the pills.

Plus, it just gives me the heebie jeebies. After I give birth, I would like ice cream and oreos please. Toss the placenta in the trash.
